Fear of failure and success. This subject is a matter of duality, it is much like a coin that has two sides that are affecting each other with their weight.
FEAR OF FAILURE
Much like what could be said about fear when it comes to failure, most people have a clear definition of what failure is like. When something simply does not go your way and there are hard times after a decision or when something you worked hard for did not come to pass according to your vision. This can be a financial investment, a decision in your work career, academic orientation or grades, relationship crisis or endings, friendship ending our ill health & injuries affecting your way of life. When we feel we are about to fail something or when we have failed something (according to our belief systems), our body will act in a certain way to respond to this emotion. We might have tightness in our muscles, our joints, constricted or rapid breathing, hard time focusing, feeling uneasy or sad about the outcome.
FEAR OF SUCCESS
Is it a bit different in the manner that it might not come across as a fear.
For example, if you were to win 10 Million USD tax-free right now, and they entered your bank account. What would be your initial reaction? Probably happiness, but then questions might arise like:
-How are people going to treat us when they find out that we are rich?
-Where will we place all of this money?
-How are we going to live our life from now on?
This kind of thoughts and questions are usually linked to worry or fear emotions which creates a sensation in the body that might be of discomfort. Our emotions are designed to lead us towards pleasure & comfort and away from discomfort and pain. When we start to think about what could eventually happen if we are to succeed our boy will respond accordingly and we can begin to create a breathing pattern tension level that subconsciously and consciously drives us away from our success. It creates a wedge and not a comfortable sensation that allows us to move in that direction, this is a form of protection from discomfort and pain.
If we have a clear definition of success but are not emotionally attached our constantly thinking or worry, questioning how it would look if we reach our given outcome. Then we can clear up energy and allow ourselves to move in the chosen direction we wished for. It will also help us to become flexible if something changes along the way and we might need to reframe or restructure our definition of success or our goals.
