Your Work Life Balance
How can your living intentions affect your lifestyle and your professional career? And how are they connected?
Living Intentions – Is far beyond the expression of wants and the spoken needs of any individual. Intentions is the energy behind the way we perceive life and why we chose to act in certain ways. This is something that is crucial for today’s modern society, people want to support and form communities in alignment with their own values. Intentions is the deriving energy from where we cultivate our high spirits in order to perform any given task.
Transparency – Is becoming much more important today. The “why” and the “how” are both crucial aspect for informing us in order to make up our decisions. We want to know what kind of world our actions are supporting. Values and morales are affecting us on a deeper level than ever before. There is a much bigger transparency nowadays then a couple of generations ago. We as people are demanding to know: What we are paying tax for? What is the current agenda of the corporate we work for? The politician we vote for? Where is the food we buy produced? And how is it produced? Where and how are our clothes are made? Is it Fair trade? Is it Organic? Is it treated with pesticide, herbicide or does it come from GMO sources? It is a time of direct communications with no hidden agendas. There is not much room for deviousness compared nowadays compared to the days before social media. I am not aiming to make a political agenda in any direction rather highlighting the fact that we live in very interesting times where we cannot adhere to ignorance because “The ripples go much further than our own doorsteps”. Living intentions is so much more than what meets the eye.
Every action – Is governed by an original intention and as the world is becoming more transparent, we essentially want to know who we are getting involved with and what their agendas are all about. As the world get more connected through Internet, social media, tv etc. There is nowhere to hide ulterior motives anymore. Confidential information is revealed at a staggering rate online. Revealing lots of the underlying processes and unknown actions in different religious, corporal, political arenas all around the world.
This can be a very touchy subject and perceived as a judgment or a personal critique to how one chose to live their life, yet this is the REALITY we are living in. Closing our eyes off to things we do not want to see by choosing to “unfollow it” on social media will not make the occurrence go away. We are accountable for our choices and the effect that they have on the world, yet we would benefit from not indulging in blame or guilt. It is more a matter of taking responsibility and chose sustainable and well-informed decisions throughout our lives.
Conscious ulterior motives – Business used to be about “closing deals”. Getting as much profit out of the situation and making the recipient believe that they were getting the better half of the deal. Using tools as rhetoric and technically phrases to enhance the value and properties of the item subject or service subject to the deal. This is why the reputation of sales traits is still affected negatively by an old era off doing business. I am not portraying this way of being in a judgmental way, rather highlighting what I feel to be the actual underlying process that governs these interactions and their outcome. Being a good “sales person” does not have to involve any form of being dishonest or deviousness, it is rather enforced by being transparent and very service minded in your newly formed relationship with your client.
Unconscious ulterior motives – A modern approach to do business is by viewing it as we are “entering into relationships”. It is not a onetime deal. It is a mutual and respectful relationship where sharing and supporting is provided with the aim to give the best outcome to both parties. The challenges of this interaction are that we tend to operate much from our own core values, which can be imposed when rendering services our products to respective parts of the trade. Trust is a major thing in business, we trust each other with the ability to make good financial decisions that will enable us to support our loved ones, our employees and in order to support our very own lifestyle. The major challenge with this view of motive is that we can easily affect others by being overly passionate about a method or a solution which we believe is the most crucial one for the situation at hand. I often struggle with holding my own enthusiasm back in order not to overly affect another person’s self-developmental journey when I am working as a coach. I do however highlight the different areas that I hold close to heart in articles social media posts etc. This is because that It what I believe in and want to share with the world.
Speaking from the heart or using the “Gut feeling” – I sincerely believe in choosing from your heart-space and listening to what your “gut feeling” is telling you to do for the best of all parties involved in personal and professional areas in your life. Most cognitive decisions are made from unconscious processes that are generally repetitive, culturally/religiously/politically/ mentally conditioned. Our “gut feeling” our body wisdom is beyond our conscious mind; it is a logical and rational computer of high potential. But we wouldn’t use a calculator to tell us if we are in love or, not right? Simply put “the body knows”, it has a higher level of wisdom than the rational mind in my experience and personal opinion.
My point is the level of stress and mental activity today is disconnecting us from our own bodies, and we many times adhere to strategies that are “easy” to perform because we can see the outcome and it enables us to go on a autopilot which is a form of control. The control is often needed to defend ourselves and make us powerful enough to handle the situation at hand. If we choose to live from our heart, allowing our “gut feeling” to govern our choices life becomes more challenging in the form that we need to pay much more attention. And we become accountable for any and every action that we perform. The upside is that we create a sustainable lifestyle where we always align “mind-body-spirit” in any and every decision throughout our lifetime. How do you align with “Spirit”?
How to Develop Life Goals
Choosing from the heart is easier when we are in “high spirits”. When we feel well rested, motivated, supported, comfortable, safe in the environment, have a sense of belonging and the ability to affect our way of life we are usually “high in spirit”. When we hear and do what the what feels right, and the whole-body benefits from that decision. Example: Listening and following a directive that “sounds” right, rather than following a directive that “feels” right. This is living intentions.
This is my way of life and the reason I chose to share this topic. I have no agenda to change any opinion or proclaiming that my way of life is better than someone else’s, I am simply offering a “change in perspective” and sharing my story about living intentions. It is not an easy way of life or doing business as many seemingly lucrative solutions will might be avoided in the process in order not to be devious in our intentions behind the way we chose to act in any given circumstance.
